Manchester United Parade

Wet and cold but a great day at United's  parade through the city with their 19th league title. Just stood at the roadside and took these - great atmosphere, hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

United's 19th title

I gave up my season ticket when the Glazers took over at Old Trafford, but United will always be my team – you can’t just switch off nearly 50 years of support. So it was a pleasure to get some shots at Old Trafford today at the Blackpool game, where United celebrated their 19th title.

I liked the way they've decorated the front of the stadium, with Sir Matt looking suitably impressed with the 19th title

As usual the flags were flying

Green and Gold was very much in evidence

But this guy was fantastic - seen in town before the game started. What a star!

The Wishing Well

One thing I love about Manchester is that you never know what you’re going to find. Just walking through town today and there were a band playing. I took the chance to get some shots of them – visually stunning – music sounded good too.
Their web site describes them as “Beguiling orchestral and lush, The Wishing Well create spellbinding sounds which produce a rich tapestry of mesmerizing folk, pop and rock.”. If you like the photos then check out their web site at this address:

Boundary Park v Asia, Season 2010-11

So this was the first outing for my new Nikon D7000. I’d wondered of the hype around the camera and the fantastic reviews were accurate – and I can only say that on this first run it was fantastic. Handled like a dream and coming from the D90 the layout of the new camera wasn’t too much of a problem. There’s a lot for me to learn on this new toy yet but my first impressions is that this is a serious camera that should significantly enhance my photography.

End of the season now so there’s a bit of a break for footy, but hopefully more sports to come!
