The Wishing Well

One thing I love about Manchester is that you never know what you’re going to find. Just walking through town today and there were a band playing. I took the chance to get some shots of them – visually stunning – music sounded good too.
Their web site describes them as “Beguiling orchestral and lush, The Wishing Well create spellbinding sounds which produce a rich tapestry of mesmerizing folk, pop and rock.”. If you like the photos then check out their web site at this address:

Boundary Park v Asia, Season 2010-11

So this was the first outing for my new Nikon D7000. I’d wondered of the hype around the camera and the fantastic reviews were accurate – and I can only say that on this first run it was fantastic. Handled like a dream and coming from the D90 the layout of the new camera wasn’t too much of a problem. There’s a lot for me to learn on this new toy yet but my first impressions is that this is a serious camera that should significantly enhance my photography.

End of the season now so there’s a bit of a break for footy, but hopefully more sports to come!

Rochdale Town v AFC Darwen

So the 2010-11 season draws to a close. I've enjoyed it tremendously and managed to cover both Rochdale and Chadderton - something that's also planned for next year. The new season will start with some shots of pre-season training and friendlies (if I can arrange them) in a few months. In the meantime there'll be some other events over the summer, and the chance for some updates from the archives.

Chadderton v Oldham Borough

Last home game of the season, so it's goodbye to Chaddy until friendlies at the start of next season.

This photo is turning up everywhere

More published work, and again it's the green and gold campaign. It is literally appearing all over the place - on several websites across the world where people are discussing United fans attitutde to the Glazers.

Published Work

It's really nice when you come across your work being used in other places, and shows that others appreciate the image you've produced. Since my work is licensed under creative commons it's readily available for use under certain restrictions - not particulalrly complex ones either. Anyway here's the first of what I hope are many other uses across the web.

Boundary Park v Mark Twain Nomads

Rochdale Sunday Football league, Firgrove Playing Fields. Much lighter today meaning faster shutter speeds - warmer as well!

Rochdale Town v Leek CSOB 2010-11

Didn't realise just how cold it was until the end of the match! As I said a few days ago, there's now such a backlog of games in North West Counties League that the games will start coming fast and furiously.

Rochdale Town v Cheadle Town 2010-11

First home game since January for Rochdale and it's an evening one. Seems so long since I've shot footy and ages since I've been at Castleton to shoot Rochdale Town so was really enjoyable.

Boundary Park v Highfield 2nds

After ages without any footy, it all comes along at once. Taken on Firgrove fields surrounded by hundreds of players and spectators that shows Sunday league is still alive and kicking. Thank God.
