Boundary Park v Mark Twain Nomads

Rochdale Sunday Football league, Firgrove Playing Fields. Much lighter today meaning faster shutter speeds - warmer as well!

Rochdale Town v Leek CSOB 2010-11

Didn't realise just how cold it was until the end of the match! As I said a few days ago, there's now such a backlog of games in North West Counties League that the games will start coming fast and furiously.

Rochdale Town v Cheadle Town 2010-11

First home game since January for Rochdale and it's an evening one. Seems so long since I've shot footy and ages since I've been at Castleton to shoot Rochdale Town so was really enjoyable.

Boundary Park v Highfield 2nds

After ages without any footy, it all comes along at once. Taken on Firgrove fields surrounded by hundreds of players and spectators that shows Sunday league is still alive and kicking. Thank God.

Rio Ferdinand and the FA Cup visit Chaddy

Aftre receiving a grant from Eon, FA cup sponsors. the FA Cup itself and Rio Ferdinand arrived at the ground to examine the new facilties. Rio had a chat with players and the volunteer committee, watched the players go through their paces and showed a willingness to spend time with everyone present - a great advert for footy. Also deserved recognition for the immense amount of work the committee at Chadderton, and all non-league clubs, put into their clubs.

Chadderton v Curzon Ashton 2010-11

What a fantastic game -  one of those both sets of supporters were remarking on as pleasure to watch. Cup Quarter finals. All square at fulltime, then ditto at the end of extra time and so to penalties.

Evening match that didn't finish until well past 10 - so usual caveats about shooting in the dark of floodlights.  Still I hope there's some you can enjoy.

Robins in the back garden

Since there's been no footy for a while it's time to try my hand at some other venture. These shots are from the back garden of the house and are my first attempt at bird photography - quite pleased with them! Only thing is this robin is an aggressive little sod and keeps chasing all the other birds away - so he's the star of the show! Hope you enjoy.

Rochdale in the snow

In particular the Parish Church, Town Hall and Christmas Tree. Hope to have some more footy this weekend.

Rochdale Town v Chadderton

What a good night this was since the two teams I regulary shoot went head to head in the League. An evening match so usual caveats about the light - and the first time this season I could see my breath - sure sign of the cold coming in.
