Just over a week ago my beloved home city was trashed. Today I made a visit to see how things had changed in that week. What a fantastic afternoon. Platform 4 were having their annual festival and it was a great atmosphere. Where else would you see an all male deaf dance group, mannequins piled high as performance art and Eastern dance, all of them watched and applauded by proud and enthusiastic Mancs. So many fantastic sights so no apologies about the number of shots here. Great day.

Rochdale Town v Nelson
First home game of the season for Rochdale Town. Evening match so light faded in second half but managed to shoot much later than in the past thanks to the D7000.

Pre- Season Friendly Chadderton v Hyde United
This was the first time I've tried the D7000 out at an evening game using floodlights. Since the reviews rave about its low-light handling capabilities, thought this was the perfect chance to put the claims to the test - and I was not dissapointed. Some of these shots were taken solely under floods with no ambient light available. Whilst grain is inevitably high, these shots were taken without NR settings applied at the higher end ISO. Impressive!

This picture of Berba is appearing regularly - probably because of who he's standing next to!

Poppies and Thistles
As we gear up for the start of the footy season (pre-season training soon), had a walk along the roadside the other day and came across this field with a fantastic display of field poppies and thistles. Hope you enjoy them.

IGLFA Day 2
Are here. I'm absolutely knackered now but I think it's been worth it. Also have to say what a friendly group they were - really pleasant to work with.

IGLFA Manchester Competition, Day 1
The competition is in Manchester at the moment and it's a fantastic solid two days of football, 11-a-side and 6-a-side. Non-stop footy! Great. There's a load of photos so they've been split into two sections.

More Published Work
More published work. Unfortunately this time the language isn't English so I can't read it, and it's a report on the Champions League Final. The photograph is also an old one taken outside Old Trafford about three years ago, but I suppose it illustrates well.

Non League day 2011
A fantastic idea from 2010 when people were encouraged to get to a non-league game. Think the Premier League will not be happening on this day so footy fans will need to look somewhere else for their fix. Whilst non-league fixtures won't have been published yet, the day can be reserved now! So all those premier league followers take the chance to see some non-league. Bookmark the date now.

United's 19th title
I gave up my season ticket when the Glazers took over at Old Trafford, but United will always be my team – you can’t just switch off nearly 50 years of support. So it was a pleasure to get some shots at Old Trafford today at the Blackpool game, where United celebrated their 19th title.
I liked the way they've decorated the front of the stadium, with Sir Matt looking suitably impressed with the 19th title
As usual the flags were flying
Green and Gold was very much in evidence
But this guy was fantastic - seen in town before the game started. What a star!
